Hello! My name is Kay Lacombe. I am a Belgian photographer with a passion for cinema and photographing the everyday life.
For years I photographed musicians. Having lost my fire in this project, I thought my journey would continue without photography.
In 2023 I was travelling through America. I had my camera with me, without a big desire of using it. When I did use my camera I started to look for color; something I had always struggled with in the past. I didn't really make any note worthy images, but it did ignite something within me to get going again.
With the help of my dear friend Gregory Vlieghe, I was able to develop my photographic voice in color. Right now, I love photographing out on the street. Because finding beauty in regular, everyday life gives me a lust for life. I'm also working on a new project in a controlled environment!
My biggest inspirations and photography heroes are James Nachtwey, Sebastiao Salgado, Anton Coene, Stefaan Temmerman, Markus Andersen and Harry Gruyaert.
