Hello! My name is Kay Lacombe. I am a Belgian photographer with a passion for cinema and photographing the everyday life.
For years I photographed musicians. Having lost my fire in this project, I thought my journey would continue without photography.
In 2023 I was travelling through America. I had my camera with me, without a big desire of using it. When I did use my camera I started to look for color; something I had always struggled with in the past. I didn't really make any note worthy images, but it did ignite something within me to get going again.

Later that winter I asked Gregory Vlieghe - now a dear friend of mine but then a stranger whose face I knew - whether he wanted to give his opinion on some of my photographs. In exchange I helped him develop his photography voice in black and white.
The combination of each others viewpoints was perfect, since I mastered black and white and he was meticulous in his use of color. From that moment on my passion for photography has kept on growing.
We made it a monthly tradition to review each others latest work.

Right now, I loving photographing out on the street. Because finding beauty in regular, everyday life gives me a lust for life.
My biggest inspirations and photography heroes are James Nachtwey, Sebastiao Salgado, Anton Coene, Stefaan Temmerman, Markus Andersen and Harry Gruyaert.
